On Saturday 24th January, London Federation of Housin Coops held its first Training Day of 2026!
We were joined by members of over 15 different housing coops and organisations. The day started with an opening discussion on various topics like the role of officers and engaging young members.
In the afternoon, attendees split into break out groups for role specific training. The training sessions were for the roles of Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. We were joined by Abigail from Coop Homes who was able to engage with members to give them a better understanding of how to get the most out of their Coop Homes membership.
LFHC Executive member Lea provided an ‘Around the Houses’ exhibition on the history of London coops and radical housing for attendees to take in over lunch, with LFHC providing food for everyone who came along. We look forward to bringing you more on this project over the year.
This was our first training event of the year, something we promised to bring our members in 2026! We look forward to future training sessions and helping to bring through a new generation of co-operators, as well as honing the skills of coop stalwarts!
Attendee testimonials:

“I found very helpful in a friendly supportive atmosphere. I was interested in developing my understanding of the role of the Chair, which I attended and found very useful. Im very grateful for the very helpful notes handed out to attendees by the presenter of the workshop.”
LFHC is a member led organisation that relies on membership affiliation funding to run these events. It is always our intent to keep our events, discussions, training and forums free for our members. Please keep an eye out for our 2026 affiliation link which will be sent out soon.
